'Stan Tour - Day 11 - Leaving Phoenix; leaving Afghanistan.

Breakfast at Camp Phoenix, getting ready for the Blackhawk flight back to BAGRAM. Upon arrival we pack for flight to Qatar; flight to Qatar on C-130; delayed on runway to replace a part on the plane; land at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, greeted by Whitney - our MWR handler in Qatar.

Here is the view outside the Phoenix VIP barracks at 5am.

Here is a picture of the inside of the 'Tiki Hut', where we spent some time the previous night, smoking cigars with the brass, and having some great laughs!

Larry got a shot of the dresses in the local shop, as we were walking out to the flightline to catch our ride.

Afghan people do things a little differently than we do.  The inside of this porta-potty proves it.  Man, talk about target practice.....

One of our rides.  Blackhawk.  Wow.  We were quite excited.

These losers don't even know that their L's are facing the wrong way.

Have I mentioned how beautiful Afghanistan is?

Larry Paul tries to look like a bad-ass soldier, but fails miserably.

Arrival at Bagram, awaiting the truck to take us back to the barracks.  Upon arrival, we have time for a short nap before we have to pack our things and hop on a C-130 destined for Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Don tries to remember whatever it is he's forgetting.

Pictured here with our MWR dudes at Bagram, who were great hosts.  From left to right, Taco, Bello, LT and big Dan.

Loaded on the C-130.  Unfortunately, they had to replace a part, so we had some down time before flight.

In this video, Rob acts as if his flak jacket is a washboard tie.

During the delay, we broke out into an impromptu jam, caught here on video.

Inside the pilot dormitory where we stayed during our time in Qatar.  Beautiful dorm!
