'Stan Tour - Day 9 - FOB Fenty, our first C-130 ride, and the Bagram Show!

Early in the morning, we caught a C-130 flight out of FOB Fenty to go back to Bagram, where we were scheduled to put on a show in the clamshell on Disney Drive that evening.

During the show, LT Whitaker held up a sign to us that read "PHOENIX SHOW ON FOR TOMORROW!"  LT had been trying to schedule a show at Phoenix all week long, and finally succeeded!

Camp Phoenix is where most of our local troops from central Illinois were stationed, many of which were friends of ours, so we couldn't wait to get there!

Up early, and preparing to catch a C-130 back to Bagram, where we'll put on a show later in the evening.

Matt and Rob do some weird gay dance, while I show off my grey hair.

That's our gear on the last pallet, waiting to be loaded on the C-130, which seems to be taking it's time in arriving.

Finally, our ride appears!  What a cool plane.

Here is a video of the C-130 arrival.

Here is a video of us boarding the C-130.  Larry Paul filmed this, and had to run to get his seat!

Back at Bagram, setting up our gear on the stage inside the big 'clamshell' tent, on Disney Drive!

This was the biggest stage we'd seen on the trip so far.

Here are the flags we'd brought to every show, requesting that the soldiers sign both of them.  The Patriot Guard flag will be presented to the Patriot Guard upon our return.  The Illinois flag will be presented to our governor, once we find a good one, that is.

The audience begins to filter in, enjoying the air conditioning, and anxious to have some good music!

The band is pictured with the Pollards, John and Julie, from Effingham!

Pictured with a new friend of the band, a fellow musician, who likes to play his gun like a bass guitar!

Who the hell let Dirk have a loaded gun????

Pictured here are our roadies at the Bagram show.
