'Stan Tour - Day
7 - Leaving FOB Salerno; back to Bagram.
The day began waiting for our flight out of Salerno, hanging around the
terminal playing cornhole. Ended up taking a STOL flight on a CASA 212 -
a beautiful flight over Afghanistan, back to Bagram.
In the evening, our hosts at Bagram gave us a tour of the outskirts of
the base.
Photo opp outside the FOB Salerno Air Terminal.
Matt pictured beside the CASA 212, a civilian cargo plane. Notice
the rest of the band loading our gear into the rear cargo compartment.
The Afghan farmers really like putting up walls around their compounds.
Here is a short video of the entire Casa 212 flight back to Bagram.
Afghanistan really is beautiful country.
Another photo opp, back at Bagram. Pictured with "Pritchett's
Persuader", a really big gun.
Some local Afghan children, playing outside the fence of Bagram.
They were yelling something at us, but we didn't understand it.
Probably a good thing, as the driver seemed surprised that they weren't
using their slingshots to fire rocks at us.
